Job summary

Sundt is seeking a Project Engineer II to act as the technical source of information for the project, with deep knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. You will respond to questions about drawings, shop drawings, and change orders, and may assist with supervision of Field Engineers.

Step II denotes a three-level progression; with 3 years of experience in this position or related large-scale projects, you’ll advance within the role as you build expertise in project

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology and related standards.
• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field or equivalent technical training with 3–4 years of field experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to supervise and train Field Engineer positions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of project management plan and change management processes.
• Develops procurement schedule and integrates with project CPM schedule; coordinates submittals.
• Understands prime contract, subcontracts, and budget controls to meet approved costs.
• Maintains as-built docs; compiles close-out requirements including manuals and warranties.
• Participates in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities.
• Plans, develops and supervises project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepares quantity reporting, minutes, and project logs for meetings.
• Prepares and reviews change orders; manages change order log and cost adjustments.
• Prevents and mitigates potential claims; analyzes impacts and resolves issues.
