Job summary

RTX is seeking a Project Engineer I to join Pratt & Whitney in an Engineering Development Program (EDP). The role supports an IPT across disciplines, coordinating on technical issues and budget updates with leadership and customers.

The EDP includes three 12‑month rotations to broaden technical experience in aerospace engineering, preparing you for meaningful contributions within RTX's engineering teams. Onsite work in Florida is expected, with a pathway to future opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

  • Support an Integrated Product Team (IPT) with Project, Design, Structures and Durability disciplines.

What You Will Do

As a Project Engineer I at Pratt & Whitney you will... Support an Integrated Product Team (IPT) consisting of Project, Design, Structures, and Durability disciplines within Hot Section Engineering (HSE) Communicate status of technical issues and budget updates to CIPT leaders, Hot section Engineering (HSE) leadership, internal program offices, and external customers. Collaborate with purchasing, suppliers, customer support, and sustainment teams to support engine deliveries and address field challenges.

What You Will Learn

Candidates hired will begin their first 2.5 years at Pratt & Whitney as part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP). This program consists of three rotations that are 12 months in duration and typically occur in three distinct disciplines within the hiring department. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.

Qualifications - Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering major obtained by start date. Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications - Prefer

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Relocation Eligibility

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
