RTX's Pratt & Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) seeks a Systems Engineering Intern with MBSE interest to support next-generation propulsion programs. You will develop system models, derive requirements, define architectures, interfaces, and verification plans while working with engineering leads and other teams.

The role offers exposure to digital engineering capabilities for military and commercial propulsion, with responsibilities aligned to your background and education,

What You Will Do:

• Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern with interest in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to support next-generation propulsion programs.
• The candidate will be responsible for the development of system models for one or more programs.
• Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney’s digital transformation initiatives and be a contributor to P&W EDSI standard work.
• This position provides the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for advanced military and commercial propulsion programs.
• Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education.
• Develop Systems Engineering Models in order to perform systems engineering tasks including: Deriving and analyzing requirements, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, requirements analysis, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, verification planning, and trade studies.
• Interface with engineering leads, team members, and other discipline teams and provide task progress updates.
• Participate in customer and/or internal technical reviews throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices and comply with EDSI standard work.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

• Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or STEM major obtained by start date.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

We Prefer:

• Prior internship or co-op experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Experience using a SysML or UML tool, such as IBM Rhapsody, Cameo/Magic Draw, or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace.
• Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

Relocation Eligibility

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
