Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer to be stationed on our jobsites for the Iowa Business Unit in Cedar Rapids, IA or Des Moines, IA. You will support planning, buyouts, management and closeout while helping the team monitor schedule and budget.

You will collaborate with the project team, review documents, track RFIs and submittals, and assist with schedule management, meetings and closeout activities. Prior leadership and a related degree are required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ project engineering experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor others.
• Industry-related college degree required.
• Data center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, update, maintain and post construction documents.
• Collaborate on RFIs with the project team.
• Review submittals against plans and specs.
• Assist in inspections, audits and non-conformance logs.
• Monitor material and equipment delivery status.
• Maintain project logs (buyouts, submittals, RFIs).
• Understand scopes for subcontracts/purchase orders.
• Track change requests and draft change orders.
• Assist with project schedule management.
• Attend meetings and record minutes.
• Gather closeout information and assist with warranty processes.
