Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Electrical Assistant Project Manager to support data center construction initiatives in Des Moines, IA. This role emphasizes coordinating contract scope, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and procurement to maintain schedule and budget.

You will work closely with subs and vendors, lead meetings, and assist with preconstruction tasks, change orders, and project closeout while applying Lean Last Planner principles.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction project management
• Experience on data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large complex electrical projects preferred
• Industry-related college degree required; equivalent combination considered
• Knowledge and application of Lean principles

Responsibilities

• Understand contract terms and ensure work stays within scope
• Manage drawings, RFIs, submittals and project documents
• Prepare inspections, audits and non-conformance logs
• Track material and equipment delivery status
• Assist in preconstruction, planning and buyout processes
• Create/manage scopes of work for subcontracts and purchase orders
• Approve subcontractor and vendor pay applications within authority
• Assist in monthly project status reports and owner billings
• Ensure subcontract agreements and amendments are executed
• Track change requests and negotiate pricing
• Utilize design tools for project coordination
• Operate project software and implement Lean Last Planner
