Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an outstanding Project Engineer to be located on our Iowa jobsites in Cedar Rapids or Des Moines. You will assist in planning, buyout, management and closeout, and report to the Project Manager on Commercial and Mission Critical projects.

As part of the project team, you’ll organize drawings and documents, review RFIs and submittals, monitor schedules and budgets, maintain project logs, and help with closeout and warranty tasks.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of project engineering experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven history of leading others and mentoring.
• Data center experience preferred.
• Industry-related college degree.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, update, maintain and post construction documents and drawings
• Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs
• Review submittals and other project documents for accuracy
• Assist in preparing inspections, audits and non-conformance logs
• Monitor material and equipment delivery status
• Maintain and distribute accurate project logs
• Understand scopes for subcontracts and purchase orders
• Track subcontractor change requests and draft change orders
• Support project schedule management
• Attend project meetings and record minutes
• Obtain closeout information and assist with warranty process
• Perform other duties as assigned
