Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc in Savannah, GA is seeking a Project Engineer for a major interstate widening project in the Savannah area. You will handle submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking and work closely with DOT inspectors and design engineers.

This role offers a multiyear engagement with growth toward Senior Project Engineer, plus a company vehicle, full benefits, and ongoing training. Local candidates or those willing to relocate are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Hands-on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Bridge experience and DOT project experience are a plus.
• Based in the Savannah area or willing to relocate for a multiyear project.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope.
• Build quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay application backup.
• Track cost against budget and assist with monthly cost reports.
• Help update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Spend real time in the field on bridge and roadway work.
• Support the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent.
