Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a major multiyear I-95 widening project in the Savannah, GA area. You will lead the engineering side of interstate widening with bridges and new interchanges, coordinating with the DOT and design teams.

You’ll manage submittals, RFIs, schedules and cost reports, mentor field staff, and work closely with the Project Manager to drive project success on a landmark job. Relocation is welcome for a long runway to PM.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project engineering on heavy civil highway/bridge/DOT projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities, cost reports and change orders.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.
• Bridge experience and state DOT exposure is a plus; EIT/PE is a plus.
• Based in Savannah area or willing to relocate for a multiyear project.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeout.
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications.
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Mentor the project and field engineers on the team.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with real time in the field on bridge and roadway work.
