Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is assisting a large national heavy civil contractor in the Savannah, GA area to hire a Project Engineer for a multiyear interstate widening project.

The role emphasizes submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking, with field exposure to bridge and roadway work. You will collaborate with DOT inspectors and design engineers and support senior staff on a clear path to a Senior Project Engineer.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 is a plus
• Bridge experience is a plus
• SCDOT, GDOT or other state DOT experience is a plus
• EIT is a plus
• Based in the Savannah area or ready to relocate for a multiyear project

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope
• Build quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay application backup
• Track cost against budget and help with monthly cost reports
• Help update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries
• Work with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements
• Spend real time in the field on bridge and roadway work
• Support the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent
