Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is hiring a Project Engineer for a major interstate widening project in the Savannah, GA area. The role focuses on submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking, with real field time on bridge and roadway work.

You will support Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers, coordinate subcontractors, and work toward a Senior Project Engineer role on a multiyear landmark project. Local Savannah candidates or those willing to relocate welcome.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Bridge experience is a plus.
• DOT experience (SCDOT, GDOT or other) is a plus.
• Based in the Savannah area or ready to relocate for a multiyear project.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope.
• Build quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay application backup.
• Track cost against budget and help with monthly cost reports.
• Help update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Spend real time in the field on bridge and roadway work.
• Support the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent.
