Job summary

United Future in Savannah, GA seeks a Project Engineer for heavy civil highway and bridge projects. You will run submittals, RFIs, takeoffs, and cost tracking on a multiyear interstate widening with major bridge work and DOT coordination. Field presence and coordination with inspectors, designers and subcontractors are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Hands-on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Bridge experience is a plus.
• DOT experience (SCDOT, GDOT or other state DOT) is a plus.
• Based in the Savannah area or ready to relocate for a multiyear project

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope
• Build quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay application backup
• Track cost against budget and help with monthly cost reports
• Help update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries
• Work with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements
• Spend real time in the field on bridge and roadway work
• Support the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent
