Job summary

Key People seeks a Project Engineer in Tampa, FL to manage engineering and project controls for heavy civil highway and bridge work across Florida. You will support field teams and coordinate with PMs and subs to keep projects on track.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in civil construction, a BS in Civil Engineering (Construction Eng & Management preferred), and proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel, and Word. FDOT or HeavyJob experience is a plus; relocation to the Tampa Bay area is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in civil construction field (office and field).
• BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management emphasis preferred.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word.
• FDOT project experience a plus.
• HCSS HeavyJob experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety
• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day to day project needs
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Track quantities, project costs and forecasting
• Get pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing
• Run document control for submittals, contract documents and record drawings
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy
• Keep NPDES permits, the SWPPP, inspections, survey staking and joint measurements with the owner on track
