Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to streamline planning and coordination of project initiatives while upholding budgets, compliance, and scheduling.

The role supports bid review, detailed scheduling, and cost control across multiple heavy civil construction sites. The position emphasizes accurate take-offs, subcontractor quotes, and effective communication with owners and general contractors to ensure timely, profitable delivery.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
• 3–4 years of prior related experience required
• Must have strong organizational and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage budget, schedule, people, and quality at multiple construction sites

Aufgaben

• Read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
• Review estimates with Superintendents to finalize the bid
• Prepare a detailed project schedule and maintain it
• Assemble job cost codes and regularly update them
• Prepare details for Project Manager to submit pay estimates to Owners
• Monitor production, resources, and total job cost vs estimate to protect profit margin
• Track project close-out tasks: punch lists, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, final estimates
