Job summary

Skanska is seeking a dynamic Project Engineer (Heavy Civil Construction) to join our Project Management Team in New York. You will help plan and oversee projects to deliver timely, cost-effective results while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role supports a diverse, inclusive culture focused on teamwork and high standards of ethics. Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling and coordinating activities across disciplines, with the goal of safe and quality delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Construction or Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years prior relevant experience.
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • Broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within assigned discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee project to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes including budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling.
  • Ensure project is constructed in a safe, ethical manner and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Support Project Management Team which can vary based on project size and complexity.

The Project Engineer works within the Project Management Team which is responsible to plan and oversee the project to ensure a timely and cost-effective outcome. This includes budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the project. Ensure the project is constructed in a safe, ethical manner and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. The Project Management Team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the projects, which in turn will affect the number of responsibilities the Project Engineer will be involved in.

Project Engineer Qualifications:
