Job summary

Skanska USA is seeking a Project Engineer to support on-site project management activities within our team. You will handle contract setup, submittals, and assist with bid packages, change orders, and scheduling to keep projects on track.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience or a suitable degree as listed, with a focus on construction documentation and close-out processes. We offer competitive salaries and a strong, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience creating RFIs and client correspondence related to contract provisions.
  • 1-3 years reading and understanding construction plans, drawings and technical specs for submittals.
  • 1-3 years experience with project close out.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar, or 8 years of equivalent experience.

The Project Engineer works on-site within the Project Management Team and is responsible for contract setup, submittals, assisting with the bid package process, change orders and assisting with the scheduling of the project. The Project Management Team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the projects, which in turn will affect the number of responsibilities the Project Engineer will be involved in. The Project Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

Project Engineer Required Qualifications:
  • 1-3 Years of experience creating documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts.
  • 1-3 years of reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Able to outline specifications required for submission to clients and ensure submittals and shop drawings are approved.
  • 1-3 years experience with project close out.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Engineering, or similar or 8 years of equivalent experience
