Job summary

Southway Builders, Inc. in Baltimore is seeking a Project Engineer to assist Project Managers and Engineers with planning, budgeting and logistics while ensuring compliance with company standards.

The role supports submittals, RFIs, budget analyses, and schedule updates on adaptive reuse and new construction projects. Requirements include an undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Engineering, 1+ year of project engineering experience, and Procore certification.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• 1+ year of Project Engineer experience.
• Procore certification.
• Awareness of building codes, OSHA and local safety regulations.
• Ability to lead a project team and manage discrete portions of a project.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Project.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Engineers in planning, budgeting and logistics.
• Uphold project standards and compliance with company guidelines.
• Record meeting minutes and manage submittals, RFIs, and logs.
• Review submittals, shop drawings and change orders in Procore.
• Prepare budget analyses for PM review and support schedule updates.
• Conduct weekly safety inspections and maintain quality control records.
• Assist in pre-installation conferences and punch list preparation.
• Support project kick-off meetings and coordinator communications.
