Job summary

PCL Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in the Civil West region, based in El Paso, TX. You will support subcontract administration, change management, and document control to keep projects on schedule and compliant.

The role requires 1–3 years of construction experience and a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
• Associates or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of construction equipment, drawings, HSE, quality and materials per field standards.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contract with select trade partners and handles subcontract administration.
• Participates in change management and change order pricing and scheduling.
• Manages project documents (RFIs, shop drawings, submittals) and as-built drawings.
• Cooperates with project team leads to manage design response and submittal schedules.
• Reviews submittals for scope, design documentation, and design reviews.
• Coordinates with project manager and superintendent to monitor HSE, cost, schedule and quality.
• Prepares and supervises progress claims and estimates.
• Tracks materials and equipment and expedites orders.
• Takes part in site inspections and resolves constructability issues; ensures code compliance.
• Participates in project closeout including archival, maintenance and warranty activities.
