Job summary

Cumming Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer in Long Beach, CA to support education facilities projects across preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases. You will coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage documentation, meetings, and change orders to ensure quality outcomes for K-12 and higher education sites.

The role requires a degree in a related field and 5+ years in construction project management, with familiarity in design-build approaches and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field required.
• Minimum five years of construction project management experience, preferably in public works or educational facilities.
• Experience with design-build or progressive design-build delivery methods is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide design, technical, engineering, and administrative support across preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and school staff to drive projects forward.
• Manage project documentation, meetings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Lead or participate in design-construction and pre-bid meetings and review comments from stakeholders.
• Prepare scopes of work, procurement documents, and ensure close-out with punch lists and DSAs.
