Job summary
T. Baker Smith is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Houston-based team. This role designs, plans, and directs engineering projects, working with the Project Manager and clients to deliver technically sound solutions.
You will lead technical tasks, develop design concepts, and prepare cost estimates, while mentoring engineers. The position emphasizes collaboration across disciplines in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications
- BS in Engineering and a P.E. license
- Strong communication and diplomacy skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
- Experience with CAD and engineering software
Responsibilities
- Lead technical tasks on projects.
- Participate in project planning including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop design concepts for projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Prepare reports, calculations, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs.
- Ensure drawings comply with standards.
- Coordinate with Project Manager and client.
- Attend meetings with clients and public.
- Direct and review team work to ensure quality.
