Job summary

T. Baker Smith is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Engineering team.

This role supports industrial, facilities and pipeline projects from FEED through construction, with emphasis on piggable transmission systems, HDD crossings, and regulatory compliance. The candidate will perform engineering calculations, develop design packages, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver safe, efficient projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and PE license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in pipeline/midstream engineering.
• Strong knowledge of CFR 49 Parts 192 & 195, ASME B31.3/31.8.
• Ability to perform complex engineering calculations and develop design packages.
• Experience with HDD design and crossing analyses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads technical tasks on pipeline and industrial projects.
• Develops design concepts, prepares reports and cost estimates.
• Ensures drawings meet QA/QC and project standards.
• Coordinates with project manager, client and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provides construction support and commissioning assistance.
