Job summary

T. Baker Smith seeks an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Engineering team, supporting design, analysis, and execution of industrial, facilities and pipeline projects from FEED through commissioning.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in pipeline and facilities engineering, with a PE license preferred and the ability to perform complex calculations and deliver design packages. On-site role in Gulfport, MS with cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; ABET-accredited.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in pipeline and midstream engineering.
• Strong knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192/195, ASME B31.8/31.4/31.3, PHMSA regulations.
• Ability to perform complex engineering calculations and develop design packages.

Responsibilities

• Leads technical tasks on projects and participates in planning, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develops design concepts and performs engineering calculations and evaluations.
• Reviews drawings for QA/QC compliance and develops project deliverables.
• Collaborates with project team, client, and multidisciplinary groups to execute tasks.
• Mentors engineers and technicians; supports construction and commissioning phases.
• Ensures regulatory compliance for natural gas, hazardous liquids, and pipeline systems.
