Job summary

Structure Tone Southwest is seeking a Project Engineer to support Project Managers in ensuring installations meet plans and specifications. The role involves reviewing shop drawings, coordinating with the superintendent, and managing schedules to keep projects on track.

Candidates should have a civil engineering or construction-related degree, strong communication skills, and familiarity with blueprints and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Good written and oral communication skills; expresses ideas clearly in writing and speaking.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Flexibility to modify plans and behavior to meet goals.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Knowledge of OSHA and company safety requirements.
• One year of field experience preferred.
• Knowledge of scheduling programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Managers to ensure work installed meets plan and specification requirements.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals for compliance and constructability.
• Suggests labor-saving and cost-saving methods.
• Attends project team meetings and distributes minutes.
• Publishes weekly progress reports and manages information flow for project construction.
• Updates project schedules and coordinates shop drawings and milestones.
• Assists in bidding and developing scope of work for trade contractors.
• Coordinates with the superintendent to establish project timelines and review/shop drawings.
• Maintains logs of shop drawings, clarifications, change requests, and proposals.
• Advises on concrete pours and inspects structural reinforcement.
• Coordinates slump and compaction testing to verify specs.
• Reviews field procedures and final installation for compliance.
• Performs work sampling to improve production efficiency.
• Compliance with safety policies and reporting unsafe activities.
