Job summary

Haydon Companies is seeking a Project Engineer in Phoenix, AZ to coordinate technical activities on assigned projects. You will plan, schedule, and coordinate project duties with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, ensuring QA/QC and adherence to design and safety standards.

You will liaise with subcontractors, manage submittals, RFI, change orders, and look-ahead planning. The role demands a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 7–10+ years of experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Construction Management; 7–10+ years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Business development, Operations, managing projects and a thorough knowledge of commercial construction, safety standards, project management, and construction regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Submittal & Shop Drawing process and maintain submittal log.
• Manage change order process: secure pricing, review data, submit for approval, and follow subcontract change orders/POs.
• Oversee timely material approval and procurement.
• Support and enforce Haydon safety policies and standards.
• Control documents and maintain as-built drawings (Bluebeam) and distribute updated drawings.
• Manage RFI process and link to as-built documents.
• Collaborate with project team on CPM and Look-Ahead planning.
• Ensure QA/QC: materials/equipment meet plans, specs, submittals.
• Attend and document Owner and Subcontractor meetings; issue minutes.
• Assist with As-Builts and Close Out process.
• Assist in preparing, leading, and documenting subcontractor, owner, and preconstruction meetings.
• Maintain regular contact with subcontractors and Haydon crews; support safety and scheduling meetings.
