Job summary

Haydon Companies is seeking an experienced construction project manager to lead an on-site project team in Texas, driving cost control and delivering projects on schedule. The role includes contract administration, procurement, estimating, pay requests, change orders, RFIs, scheduling, submittals, safety controls, and quality assurance.

You will build strong relationships with owners, design teams, and subcontractors while maintaining Haydon’s visibility in the local community and upholding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture or related field.
• 7+ years in construction management or similar field.
• Proficient with scheduling and project software; knowledge of standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site project team and manage day-to-day activities.
• Oversee cost control, procurement, estimating, and pay requests.
• Administer contracts, change orders, RFIs and submittals.
• Monitor safety and ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with owner, design team, and subcontractors to successful outcomes.

SUMMARY

Leading and managing a project team in building successful projects, cost control for managing day-to-day activities of subcontractors and suppliers, contract administration, procurement, estimating, pay requests, change orders, requests for information, cost control, scheduling, tracking submittals, safety controls, maintaining and delivering a high level of quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review/approve project team on-site setup, including facilities layout, selection of forming systems and equipment.
• Monitor receipt of subcontractor bonds and periodically review status of subcontractor management, change order processing and shop drawings.
• Become thoroughly knowledgeable of projected costs, contingent liabilities, and contingent savings/increased profits.
• Establish and maintain relationships with owner, design team and subcontractors while maximizing Haydon’s visibility in surrounding community.
• Thorough knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree; 7+ years in construction management, architecture or similar field. Experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Excellent skills in P6 scheduling software and Excellent computer skills Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, On Center OST, MS Project, and HCSS software. High energy level and the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Understands and abides by all government processes and regulations.
