Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting seeks a Project Engineer for a commercial construction team in San Jose, CA. You will support project managers and field teams across the construction lifecycle, helping ensure safety, on-schedule delivery, and budget adherence.

This role offers a compensation range of $70,000–$95,000 annually, DOE, and full-time employment. Ideal candidates have a related bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years’ experience with plans, docs, and project software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Engineering preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in commercial construction or related field.
• Strong understanding of construction plans and project documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; project software a plus.
• OSHA safety training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination.
• Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Prepare, track, and distribute RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and other correspondence.
• Assist with schedules, procurement, material tracking, and cost documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and clients.
• Review invoices, change orders, and pay applications; maintain records.
