Job summary

Placements24 is representing a client in Welkom seeking a Project Engineer to manage capital projects across chemical facilities. You will plan, implement, and complete upgrades, installations, and process modifications, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and at least six years of project engineering experience in the chemical sector. Strong PM skills and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years of project engineering experience in chemical/process environments.
• Proven track record managing capital projects in a plant setting.
• Familiarity with PM methodologies and project controls.
• Experience with P&IDs and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution from conception to commissioning.
• Develop scopes, budgets, and schedules with stakeholders.
• Manage resources including contractors and internal teams.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigations.
• Coordinate with operations for handover and integration.
