Placements24 is seeking a diligent Chemical Plant Engineer to join our client's operations in George. The role focuses on ensuring smooth and efficient plant operation, managing equipment, and implementing process improvements in a leading facility in the Western Cape region.

You will monitor operations, oversee installation and maintenance of equipment, ensure safety, environmental compliance, and contribute to efficiency and sustainability through audits and technology upgrades.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in a chemical plant or industrial operations environment.
• Knowledge of process control systems, instrumentation, and plant safety protocols.
• Familiarity with environmental compliance and waste management procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of chemical processing equipment and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular process audits and recommend improvements for efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
• Support the implementation of new technologies and process upgrades.
