Placements24 is representing a client in Welkom seeking a Project Engineer to manage capital projects across chemical facilities. You will plan, implement, and complete upgrades, installations, and process modifications, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and at least six years of project engineering experience in the chemical sector. Strong PM skills and stakeholder management are essential.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Project Engineer to manage and execute various capital projects within their chemical facilities in Welkom . This role is essential for the successful planning, implementation, and completion of projects related to plant upgrades, new installations, and process modifications. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, while meeting all technical and operational requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and technically adept engineer to take ownership of significant projects and contribute to the modernization and expansion of chemical infrastructure in the Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of chemical plant projects from conception through to commissioning.
• Develop detailed project scopes, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Manage project resources, including contractors, suppliers, and internal technical teams.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards throughout all project phases.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams for smooth project handover and integration.
