Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, seeks a Project Engineer to support bridge and paving projects in Southern Illinois. You will assist the Project Manager and Estimator with day-to-day admin tasks to ensure estimates are accurate and projects finish on time and within budget.

Qualifications include a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree (or equivalent experience) and experience with Procore, Build2Win, or P6 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in civil engineering or construction management or related field; experience considered in lieu of degree
• Preference for construction industry experience, bridges and structures projects

Responsibilities

• Attend project turnover meetings (estimating to operations)
• Assist in generating and maintaining project schedules (cash flow and workload)
• Attend job meetings
• Assist in submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements
• Ensure work complies with OSHA standards and company policies
• Enforce the company safety program
• Ensure work meets project specifications
• Assist in completing project plans and maintaining reports
• Prepare project closing documents
• Review construction documents and perform takeoffs; obtain pricing including DBE subs
• Prepare CPM schedules using estimated productions
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site investigations
• Prepare QA/QC plans; maintain QA/QC records
