Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking a Project Engineer to support its bridge and paving projects in Southern Illinois. The role assists the Project Manager and Estimator with day-to-day project management and estimating tasks to keep projects on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will work on schedules, submittals, procurement, QA/QC, and bid activities, collaborating with field teams to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
• Preferably experience in construction, bridges and structures projects.

Responsibilities

• Attend project turnover meetings (estimating to operations).
• Assist in generating and maintaining project schedules, cash flow and workload.
• Attend job meetings and assist in submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
• Ensure work, including subcontractors, complies with OSHA standards and company policies; enforce safety program.
• Ensure all work meets project specifications and assist in preparing project plans.
• Maintain and prepare all project reports and closing documents; review documents and perform takeoffs for materials and subcontractors.
• Assist in preparing CPM schedules using estimated productions; attend pre-bid meetings and site investigations.
• Assist in preparing QA/QC plans and maintain QA/QC records.
