Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, seeks a Project Engineer to support bridge and paving projects in Southern Illinois. The role assists the Project Manager and Estimator with day-to-day administrative functions to ensure accurate estimates and on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications include a Civil Engineering or CM degree (or equivalent experience). Proficiency with Procore, Build2Win, and/or P6, and strong contract-reading and communication skills are desired.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Experience in construction industry, bridges & structures preferred.
• Combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Attend project turnover meetings from estimating to operations.
• Assist in generating and maintaining project schedules (cash flow and workload).
• Attend job meetings and assist with submittals, PO, COs, and subcontractor agreements.
• Ensure work complies with OSHA standards and company policies; enforce safety program.
• Prepare CPM schedules using estimated productions; assist in pre-bid site investigations.
• Assist in QA/QC plans and maintain QA/QC records as required.
• Prepare project closing documents and related reports.
