Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking an entry-level learner to support project teams on a construction site in Westmont, IL. The role focuses on training in Ryan processes, policies, and field and office operations for a six-month minimum, ideally the project duration.

You will assist with RFIs, shop drawing coordination, and vendor/subcontractor deliveries while gaining exposure to permits, safety policies, and overall site logistics.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
  • Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings and cost-coding systems.
  • Strong interface and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project team with learning Ryan processes and policies.
  • Help generate RFIs and track approvals.
  • Monitor shop drawing log and coordination.
  • Learn field verification and dimensional control on site.
  • Assist in vendor and subcontractor delivery tracking.
  • Support project scheduling updates.
  • Participate in safety policy learning and site logistics understanding.

Job Description:

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
