Job summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a hands-on learner to support project teams on designated construction projects in Westmont, IL. The role emphasizes learning Ryan processes, procedures, and business policies while working from a site.

You will gain experience in field and office operations, assist with RFIs, shop drawings, scheduling, and coordination with vendors and subs, and participate in permit inspections and project documentation.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and read architectural/engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project team in completing designated projects while learning Ryan processes, procedures and policies.
  • Learn field and office operations on a construction project site for six months or longer.
  • Help generate RFIs and track approvals, maintain shop drawing logs, and coordinate deliveries.
  • Participate in scheduling, punchlist inspections, and project documentation updates.

Job Description

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some Things You Can Expect to Do
  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
