Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our National Mission Critical team. You will assist the project team, learn Ryan processes and policies, and support the completion of designated projects.

Responsibilities include RFIs, shop drawings, coordinating deliveries, site logistics, permits, punchlists, and scheduling. Bachelor’s in construction field and 1+ year experience required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field.
  • 1+ year of commercial construction experience.
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in generating RFIs and tracking approvals.
  • Maintain shop drawing log and coordinate shop drawings.
  • Learn dimensional control and verify dimensions on site.
  • Support coordination and tracking of vendor/subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Understand overall site logistics.
  • Assist with city and jurisdictional permit inspections.
  • Update office and jobsite plans with RFIs/ASIs.
  • Attend punchlist inspections and track items to completion.
  • Help prepare and update the project schedule.

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our National Mission Critical team!

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

Some things you can expect to do
  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in commercial construction.

  • Read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.
  • Experience in Construction Management Software (i.e. Procore).
  • Design-build commercial construction experience.
Compensation

The salary range is $70,000 - $85,000. The salary base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
