Job summary

Foster Lawson in San Francisco, CA seeks an experienced civil construction professional to support the planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects. You will coordinate site engineering activities, interpret drawings, and develop RAMS to ensure safe, compliant execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of major civil infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with programme, budget, and quality targets.
  • Coordinate site engineering activities across earthworks, drainage, highways, or structural elements.
  • Interpret and manage construction drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Develop and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) to ensure safe execution of works.
  • Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, designers, and client representatives to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Set out works and verify accuracy of surveys, levels, and quantities.
  • Monitor progress on-site and assist in short-term and long-term programme planning.
  • Manage technical queries (RFIs) and resolve design or construction issues with the design team.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards (HSEQ) and relevant regulations.
  • Support commercial teams with valuations, cost tracking, variations, and change control.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including as-built drawings and daily reports.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring work meets contractual and technical requirements.
  • Assist in procurement of materials and plant, ensuring timely availability.
  • Participate in site inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes.
  • Contribute to project risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement across site operations.
