Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Project Engineer in Gonzales, LA to lead plant-executed projects across an industrial gases manufacturing setting. You will coordinate engineering, design, construction, safety, budgeting and scheduling to deliver capital projects.

This 2-year assignment offers exposure to outage support, process safety, and operating plant environments, with travel possible depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Technical degree required in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines preferred.
• Experience leading capital projects and outages, with construction resources managed during execution.

This opportunity sits within a specialist project and outage support environment delivering capital projects across an industrial gases manufacturing setting. The role will lead plant-executed projects, coordinating engineering, design, construction, safety, budgeting and scheduling activities while supporting turnaround planning and execution. This position offers exposure to capital projects, outage support, process safety and operating plant environments, with travel potentially required depending on project needs.

Required Education

• Technical degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Required Experience

• Experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines
• Manufacturing plant operations, maintenance and capital projects experience
• Experience leading assigned capital projects, including standalone projects and projects within plant outages
• Experience managing engineering, design and construction resources during project execution
• Experience working within an operating plant environment

Required Skills

• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Strong leadership abilities
• Ability to develop estimates, funding documents, schedules and ongoing project forecasts
• Ability to manage project safety, budget and schedule performance
• Understanding of process hazard reviews, ORI completion and inherent process safety principles

Required Certifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC card for the duration of the project
• Ability to obtain a Security Passport
• Ability to pass refinery background checks
• Ability to achieve state-mandated certifications such as OSHA, where required
