Job summary

Ryan Companies Inc. in Chicago seeks a Project Engineer to support our project teams on active construction sites. You will learn Ryan processes while working from a project site for a six-month minimum, with hybrid work for certain roles.

You will generate RFIs, track approvals, maintain the shop drawing log, verify dimensions, coordinate deliveries, and assist with safety, permits, and the project schedule. Strong math, drawings literacy, and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and read architectural/engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with purchasing orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Generate RFIs and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control and verify dimensions on site.
  • Assist in coordinating and tracking Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures and site logistics.
  • Understand the city and jurisdictional permit inspections.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Assist in Punchlist inspections and track completion of items.
  • Contribute to updating the project schedule.
