Job summary

EnerSys Delaware Inc. in the United States is seeking a Project Design Engineer to design, engineer and cost critical power construction projects. You will create designs for large, technically complex projects, support construction, and serve as SME for technical issues.

Travel and collaboration with engineering, sales, and operations teams are expected. The role requires a BS in engineering and experience with critical power, cooling/controls, and project management.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering (electrical or mechanical) or similar technical field from an accredited university.
• Experience in critical power including protected DC power and AC power systems.
• Basic understanding of cooling systems, control systems, AC switch gear, and generator systems.
• Experience in project management and operations culture.
• Understanding of financial statements, budgets and engineering economic calculations.
• Ability to create, document, and present design concepts to customers and operations.
• Experience working with professional engineers and architects.
• Familiarity with construction techniques and able to apply them to design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create designs for strategic, large, technically complex projects.
• Support the construction of designs.
• Serve as subject matter expert for the resolution of technical issues.
• Continuously improve tools, templates and software used to provide proper estimations, designs, and supporting documentation.
• Clarify project scope with clients and oversee discussions with professional resources; engage technical vendors as necessary; perform system reliability calculations and design control/monitoring systems.
• Guide the sales and estimating team in costing and pricing; assist sales with presentations to clients; support Sales and Operations in client relationships.
