Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach is seeking a DSC Project Coordinator II in the Planning Department to manage private land development reviews and city approvals. You will lead meetings with developers, consultants, and staff, and guide the development process from pre-submittal to bond.

Strong communication and a practical understanding of city ordinances are essential. Ideal candidates hold a related BS/BA, professional certification, and hands-on land development experience in a municipal setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a related field plus development experience.
• Professional certification or license related to the trade or development.
• Experience with land development projects and government/municipal processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage City's review and issue approvals for private land development projects (commercial/site plans, subdivisions, multifamily, variances).
• Facilitate project meetings with developers, design consultants, and city staff.
• Provide leadership, guidance and training to the City's review team and customers.
