Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach is seeking a Project Manager to lead design and construction services for its Capital Improvement Program. The role involves coordinating the design effort among City staff and review agencies, managing bidding and awarding, and overseeing construction administration and closeout.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering and a PE license, with at least five years of progressive experience.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field.
possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license from the Virginia Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA).
Five years of progressive professional experience.

Responsibilities

Project management for building design and construction services.
Design and review of construction and major renovation project plans and specifications.
Prepare and review cost estimates and monitor project expenditures.
Administer construction and engineering contracts.
Review project plans for proper work sequencing, quality, and cost control.
Coordinate with City departments and outside agencies.
Communicate with City departments and the public.
Conduct field assessments and related work as required.
