Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager and Sales team in estimating, securing, and managing machinery moving and rigging jobs from inception to completion.

The role involves identifying client needs, creating detailed project plans, and organizing and storing project reports and documents. You will work onsite in Houston, coordinating with estimators, operations, and safety professionals to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school degree or GED equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, supervisory and project management skills.
• Experience with job costing and construction accounting.
• Proficient with MS Office; CAD/BlueBeam or SketchUp familiarity helpful.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, answer questions on scope/timing, monitor costs and progress.
• Lead pre- and post-hand-off meetings with Estimator and operations.
• Manage projects with cross-functional teams across facilities, operations, and admin.
• Plan and complete multi-phased projects; may manage 3-8 projects at once.
• Communicate with clients/contractors via RFQ/PI processes on cost and scope.
• Collaborate to execute the project management plan and handle change orders.
• Prepare status reports and ensure adherence to contract specs.
• Coordinate safety with the estimating team and safety professionals.
• Work onsite and travel to client sites; direct activities on the project.
• Develop detailed schedules with milestones, deliverables, dependencies.
• Facilitate weekly progress meetings with stakeholders and executives.
• Maintain project files in SharePoint for continuity.
