Job summary

Sol Systems, based in Washington, DC, seeks a full-time Project Controls professional. Hybrid work arrangement with some travel to project sites. You will analyze contractor schedules, forecast spend, and advise the project team during construction to keep schedules and budgets aligned with contracts.

The role emphasizes CPM scheduling, risk analysis, and collaboration across departments to balance schedule efficiency with cost controls. Prior experience in renewables is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent field.
• 3+ years using project scheduling software (MS Project/Primavera) with CPM.
• 3+ years supporting budget management.
• PMP certification not required but ideal.
• Experience building Power BI reports is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze contractor construction schedules to identify risks and changes to the critical path.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to report risks to milestones based on progress.
• Create schedule scenarios to support internal risk evaluation of schedules and procurement changes.
• Develop processes and tools to gather and analyze project data for cost and schedule control.
• Assist in creating internal schedule hand-offs from development to construction.
• Coordinate with departments to balance priorities with overall business goals.
• Support budget management tasks and update spend forecasts.
• Analyze contractor invoicing and EVM breakdown; suggest improvements.
• Standardize budget reporting and provide regular risk/budget updates.
