Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Phoenix is seeking an Engineering Intern to apply standard engineering techniques to design and update systems. You will assist lead engineers across construction projects, with duties varying by market.

This full-time internship offers exposure to safety, project management, and real-world engineering practices, with opportunities to grow skills in communication, problem solving, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• Or, currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education program in a field related to the work done in the department required.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques to design or update engineering systems.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties across market segments.
• Perform tasks as assigned within construction and other market groups.
