Job summary

Kforce's client, a leading real estate developer in New York, seeks a Project Accounting Supervisor to lead a team of project accountants and accounts payable staff. You will oversee AIA billing, contract terms, and cash flow, and partner with project managers for accurate monthly close and reporting.

The role requires 7+ years in construction/project accounting, experience with Sage 300 and Procore, and strong Excel skills. Office five days in midtown Manhattan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent preferred.
• 7+ years of construction/project accounting experience.
• Experience with Sage 300 (Timberline) and Procore.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
• Willing to work in office 5 days in midtown Manhattan.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of personnel including Project Accountants and Accounts Payable Associates
• Project Accounting Supervisor will review and ensure accuracy and integrity of AIA invoice billing
• Review and verify billing for fee percentage and insurance
• Liaise with clients and monitor collection of billing
• In charge of outstanding accounts receivables -manage follow-up inquiries to clients
• Monitor cash flow and communicate to senior management
• Participate in monthly financial meetings with project managers for monitor progress of project and ensure proper and accurate billing and pay application to client per contract terms
• Review and interpret contracts, subcontractor documents, payment terms, insurance, and bond requirements
• Review and verify accuracy of final AIA payment application from trade subcontractors
• Liaise with vendors and respond to inquiries from general contractors and project managers
• In charge of outstanding accounts payables
• As a Project Accounting Supervisor, you will monitor weekly check runs and wire transfers
• Responsible for close out of the projects upon their completion
• Assist with the monthly close process and financial reporting for the company

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
• 7+ years of construction/project accounting experience
• Experience with Sage 300 (Timberline accounting software) and Procore (project management software)
• Strong communication skills; Both verbal and written
• Proficient at an intermediate level with MS Excel
• Able to analyze raw data and present it in a meaningful manner to upper management
• Willing to work in office 5 days in midtown Manhattan

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
