Job summary

CFS in Lutz, FL is seeking a Project Accountant to manage project billing, job costing, and WIP reporting, while collaborating closely with leadership and project teams for visibility and influence across the business.

You will own core accounting processes, support billing and profitability analyses, and contribute to system improvements in a growing construction-focused organization that emphasizes strategic partnering between finance, operations, and project management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience in construction or project-based environments.
• Experience with job costing, project accounting, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with construction billing, progress billing, or AIA billing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage project billing, customer invoicing, and accounts receivable activities.
• Support accounts payable processing, vendor management, and payment coordination.
• Maintain accurate job costing and project accounting records.
• Assist with Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and project profitability analysis.
• Reconcile financial transactions and support month-end close activities.
• Partner with project managers and leadership to resolve billing, costing, and reporting discrepancies.
