Job summary

CPL is seeking a Project Accountant to manage the full project accounting lifecycle from setup to closeout. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance leadership to ensure accurate budgeting, billing, revenue recognition, forecasting, and reporting.

The role requires strong Excel skills, ERP proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to profitability and ensure financial integrity across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of project accounting experience.
• Experience managing projects through full life cycle.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, billing, and revenue recognition knowledge.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects in the accounting system with accurate data.
• Review contracts for compliance with policies and customer agreements.
• Develop and maintain project budgets and cost projections.
• Monitor project performance, costs, revenue, and profitability.
• Prepare and process customer billings per contract terms.
• Manage revenue recognition and accounting standards compliance.
• Track accounts receivable and support collections.
• Prepare monthly project financial reports and variance analyses.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Process project modifications, change orders, and amendments.
• Perform project closeout activities including final billing.
• Support audits as needed.
