Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Project Accountant II to support project accounting and forecasting for small to mid-sized jobs. The role involves interfacing with project management, clients, and subcontractors, and occasional travel to sites.

You will collaborate with a team to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control while maintaining accurate financial reporting and supporting audits. Experience in construction accounting and ERP systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, Files, and Co Policies.
• Conducts timely and accurate review of requisitions and lien waivers.
• Sets up and formats project financial forecasts for internal and client reporting.
• Leads monthly project forecast meetings and maintains ETCs for labor and expenses.
• Ensures timely management of accounts receivable and payables.
• Manages the project financial closeout process.
• Builds professional relationships internally and with clients/subcontractors.
• Assists with contract abstracts and audits as directed.
• Reviews WIP and explains variances and balances.
