Job summary

Gilbane Building in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Project Accountant who will oversee project accounting and forecasting for multiple mid-sized to large projects. The role sits primarily in the office with some travel to project sites for meetings with project teams and subcontractors.

You will collaborate with project management, clients, and vendors, manage contracts, requisitions, lien waivers, and weekly forecasts, and mentor junior staff while upholding Gilbane's Caring and People First

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 6–10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, files, and Co Policies.
• Conducts timely and accurate reviews of requisitions and lien waivers.
• Sets up and formats project financial forecasts to meet internal and client reporting needs.
• Manages monthly project forecast meetings and maintains ETCs for labor and expenses.
• Evaluates change management for reporting inconsistencies.
• Ensures timely management of accounts receivable and payables.
• Manages the project financial closeout process.
• Develops and maintains positive professional relationships internally and externally.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced team members.
• Reviews cost proposals and understands contract types and delivery methods.
• Supports monthly Work in Process (WIP) processes with Accounting Manager or Business Controller.
