Job summary

A global architecture and design firm in Austin, TX is seeking a Project Accountant to manage financial reporting, invoicing, and project lifecycle analytics. You will collaborate with Design Managers to ensure accurate billing, monitor budgets, and drive fiscal health across projects and studios.

The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and experience with project accounting in a professional services environment. Overtime may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Accounting or business administration degree preferred and/or 5 years of project accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills and financial reporting experience.
• Understanding contract terms related to fee management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Design Managers to ensure accurate billing and financial reporting at project and studio levels.
• Review project work plans, budgets, and staffing plans to ensure appropriate fees.
• Understand contract terms as it relates to fee management.
• Assist Design Managers in project start-up due diligence and best practices through project life cycle.
• Provide accurate invoices to clients per contract terms.
• Forecast actual vs. budget spending and analyze projects for leadership insights.
• Monitor, analyze, and report metrics at the studio level to support healthy business practices.
