Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Accountant to autonomously manage client invoicing, collections, project budgeting and assist with coding AP, timesheets and expense reports. You will ensure contract documentation and budget entries are accurate and on time.

You’ll work with project teams to provide performance data, resolve financial issues and support multiple managers in a fast-paced environment while promoting HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting or a similar role.
• Familiar with Earned Value Management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is essential.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously manage client invoicing, collections, and project budgeting.
• Provide backup assistance on coding and processing A/P, time sheets, and expense reports.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation, administration and budget entries.
• Provide timely project performance data and resolve financial issues with project staff.
• Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and ensure contractual compliance.
• Assist multiple project managers and staff daily; mentor junior staff.
